Practical Advises
These are some of the advises to follow to obtain the best results on the final product.
We recomend to pay extra attention to the VERY IMPORTANT, as it will affect the quality of the puzzle in a severe way, if not taking in consideration.
If you still hold any doubt, we suggest to consult our page of Most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), and if still fully not satisfy, you may send your question via email to us.
VERY IMPORTANT
Select your picture of 7.9 x 11.8 inches maximum, and 3.9 x 5.1 inches minimum, for a puzzle bigger than 140 pieces.
Make sure that the picture is clean with no scraches, spots, or anything that will appear once maximized in the puzzle.
With a glass manifier of 5 to 10 times, observe the definition level. If it is not clear enough in your appretiation, you may want to discard it and replace it by a clearer one.
We recomend that the picture selected by you, to be blown up to a size of 5.9 x 7.9 inches, for puzzles of 560 to 1120 pieces.
Please do not send picture negatives or slides. In case of loss they are irreplaceable.
If the picture is extremely elongated, the long size will be cut, loossing some of the original form. Example- If your picture is 3.9 x 5.9 inches and you want to make a Personalized Puzzle of 560 pieces, (which measures 20.1 x 14.2 inches), you will apply this formula to find out how much of the picture would need to be cut Take the longest size of the picture ( 5.9 inches) then you have to substract this number from the final result of this formula: (3.9 times 20.1 divided by 14.2) equals 5.52 minus 5.9 equal 3.8 inches to be cut.
On the contrary, if the picture is small square, the picture will be cut on the short side.To find out how much it will be cut, you must apply this formula: If the picure is 3.9 by 4.3 inches, and you want to make a puzzle of 289 pieces, (14.2 by 10 inches puzzle) you have to take the longest size of the picture 4.3 inches, and you have to substract from this number the resilt of this operation: short size of the picture multiply by the longest size of the puzzle 14.2 inches divided by the shortest sizr of the puzzle 10 inches (formula 4.3 - (3.9 X 14.2 / 10), equals 1.2 inches.so the original picue of 3.9 by 4.3 will be reduced to 2.7 by 4.3 inches. We will naturally always maintain the main object or object in the picure well centered.
You must be careful with photocopies, ink-jet impressions, offset (picures from magazines or postcards) laser or digital images. Images are formed by an infinity number of small dots to formed a figure, which once amplyfied it can show up as a needle point. If you use a magnifier you can easily detect it.
Once the puzzle is done, if you wish to frame it, we recomend not to use glue on the front, as the digital imporessiom inks deteriorate in touch with glue. You may glue on the opposite size, the one with the green carton, although are best recomendation is not to use glue and instead you can also frame it by applying a crystal on a cardboard base frame.
