Extraordinary talent and a love of art made Jack Vettriano the most important contemporary Scottish painter, although he never received formal training. In 1988, the committed artist began his career as a painter at the Royal Scottish Academy where his first paintings were met with great enthusiasm. Ever since, Jack Vettriano has enjoyed a meteoric rise. His works can be admired at numerous art shows in Europe, Africa and Asia. At the moment, his impressive compositions are on exhibit at the Portland Gallery in London.
