Christian Sommer´s paintings are dreams of the south. The impressive nature is reflected in his works of art and captured with immense intensity. His motives are expressively vivid and simultaneously sensous. By their deep brilliant colors they reflect optimism and joie de vivre.
After completing his apprenticeship as textile pattern designer and studying at the Werkkunstschule Offenbach Christian Sommer, born in 1941 in Gemünden am Main, was initially employed as textile pattern and fashion designer for 15 years until he finally took over the position of a trainer. Since 1976 he has been self-employed and a member of the Kunstverein Eisener Turm in Mainz. His ateliers are located in Wiesbaden and Palma/Mallorca, where his colorful, sun-penetrated oil paintings are also created.
