It all began in the Black Forest, where the self-taught artist Armin Strittmatter was born in 1959. As a child, his outstanding talent for painting attracted much attention and was encouraged by his parents. With immense passion, Armin Strittmatter created graphic snapshots. Sketches capturing a world of color were subsequently transformed into paintings. After a development period of twenty years, Armin Strittmatter had not only found his artistic identity, but also a large number of admires. Having meanwhile attained worldwide recognition, the artist's imaginative color compositions made a lasting impression at numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. Drifting boundaries between the abstract and the concrete allow this painter to create works full of suspense and stimulating highlights. "Art is what you like", says Armin Strittmatter, who refuses to be classed under any particular style, he repeatedly offers surprises in the form of new materials, new elements or new ideas.
