In his paintings, the artist Michael Leu focuses on positive aspects. Living in California, colorful and cheerful urban settings inspire him to create aesthetically attractive scenes depicting sights from around the world. On the lively Champs-Elysées in Paris or in the romantic harbor of Capri, Michael Leu is at home everywhere in his paintings. His portraits of graceful ladies and venturous cats, again illustrate Michael Leu´s intention of creating a pleasant atmosphere in his paintings to stimulate optimism. Born in Taiwan in 1950, Leu received international prizes for his creative work even as a young man. He later studied at the well-known Fushing Art and Craft School in Taipei, as well as under eminent painters. After opening his first design studio and working successfully for the magazine "Modern Home", he was appointed to the board of directors of the Society for Interior Design in recognition of his services to modern design. Mainly with a view to furthering his career, Leu emigrated to the United States in 1984, where he has meanwhile founded numerous studios for painting, object act and printing graphics.
