The creative activities of the painter Elena Filatov, who lives in Germany, range from graphics and illustrations for advertising clients to oil paintings. Elena was born in Kazakhstan in 1968. She studied art and music in Omsk, Siberia and in Moscow. She then worked initially as a designer and graphic artist in Chabarosvsk, Far East Asia and in the US town of Portland. Her artistic development has been shaped by the different continents and cultures experienced in the course of her life. Drawing on a wide variety of painting
techniques and themes, her subjects range from flowers and landscapes to nude studies. Luminous tones applied with strong brush strokes harmonize and contrast in an imposing way. Her paintings cast an irrestible spell. Elena has the ability to draw onlookers incredibly close to graceful blossoms or lead them into impressive landscapes, where even the wind flaunts a color.
