Inspired by the famous classic artists of modern, abstract painting, such as Mondrian, Rothko and Scully, Ralf Bohnenkamp interprets the minimalist motto of „Less is more“ in an entirely new way. The artist does much more than observe the principles of formal purity and clinical objectivity. His motifs appear in no way reserved, but possess a very emotional and even spiritual dimension, arising not least of all from the shadowy contours and layers of color that create a mythical aura. Born in Essen and having studied architecture as well as painting, the artist has fascinated his audience since 1992 with countless collective and individual exhibitions.
